Athanasios Ellis
Athanasios Ellis is Editor in Chief of Kathimerini English Edition which is published in Greece and Cyprus along with the New York Times as a single paper. He was for many years Washington correspondent for Kathimerini as well as television and radio stations.
He has interviewed numerous foreign leaders and influential politicians, among them Turkish leaders Erdogan, Gul, and Davutoglu, French Presidents Sarkozy and Macron, US Vice President Biden, European Commission Presidents Junker and Baroso, IMF managing directors Lagarde and Strauss Khan.
He has reported from various foreign capitals, including Washington (and New York), Beijing, Tokyo, Brussels, Berlin, London, Paris, Rome, Vienna, Ankara (and Istanbul), Nicosia and Cairo.
He has appeared on international media to analyze Greek elections, the economic crisis, Greek-Turkish relations and the Cyprus issue, Greeceās preparation for the 2004 Olympic Games, etc. He has a B.A. from Boston University in Economics and Political Science, and a M.A. from B.U. in International Relations. He then got a Diploma in Journalism at New York University.
